Available for Adoption

March 2008:  We presently have two female leos in need of new homes.

Leonora is a very special girl.  Being wolf grey, rather than the usual lion yellow or reddish-brown colour that people often associate with Leos, she has a very loving temperament and gentle personality.  Sadly, she has gone through a lot in her short life.  Best guess is she’s around 6 years old.

Leonora would do best in an adult home, or a home with older children, and no other pets.   Leonora will be ready for her new ‘forever home’ as soon as she is spayed.

Update : November 13th, 2007

New photographs have been added to Leonora's Photo Gallery.  Please click on either image at the left of this text to view beautiful Leonora.

Nikki is a very energetic and affectionate three year old girl who gives her heart freely.  She desperately wants to please, and tries very hard to do what is asked of her, but often gets so excited that she just cannot contain herself.

Nikki has just graduated from her basic obedience class. ( See photos of her in the Gallery getting her certificate! )

She is reactive when other dogs around her get excited, so it is important that her new family be prepared to work with her on a 24/7 basis.  For this reason, a family where an adult is home all day would be best suited for her.  It is equally important that her training be continued to help her develop self-control and confidence.

Nikki seems to feel more comfortable around women and is more guarded around men and older boys.   They seem to activate her protection mode, yet given time, patience and positive reinforcement obedience training, this too can be adjusted.

Since the dog’s welfare must come first we do not simply allow our adopters to pick their own dog, nor do we place our dogs on a ‘first-come-first-serve’ basis.  Rather, we first determine a dog’s needs and then match them to whoever is able to meet those needs best.  If you are interested in one of the dogs listed above, you may mention that on your Application Form.  We will evaluate your application relevant to that dog's needs.  We would only approve your request if the match was right for all involved.

If you would like to be considered as a potential adopter, please complete the  Adoption Application Form  and return it to us at your earliest convenience.  We will keep your information on file and contact you should a suitable dog become available.

Special Note:   Please be sure you have read  Adoption Info  to fully understand some of the potential challenges of adopting a rescued dog.
